Last chance to get the Lestat ARVLFC 2014 Poster

Anne Rice’s ‘ The Prince Lestat ‘ and the ARVLFC 2015 New Orleans Ball

Although work has been incredibly busy as of late, I recently finished reading the new Anne Rice novel, ‘ The Prince Lestat ‘ – Although I won’t go into detail regarding the plot, I will say that it has left with me with a lot of ideas for the poster design/promo for the 2015 ball in New Orleans. I’ve already thrown a few ideas to and had a few ideas thrown back at me by Sue Quiroz, the administrator and all around miracle worker behind the ball, and although Anne has the final say on things, I think we’ve come up with some pretty good ideas so far – The ‘Savage Garden’?, ‘The Court in Auvergne’? I am very eager to begin, and even though I’m swamped with other clients, more often than not, my mind wanders to what I’m going to be doing with this project.

The positive feedback I received from last years poster, as well as even Anne Rice’s words of praise made it all worthwhile.

One of the highlights of 2014 was receiving a signed by Anne Rice copy of my poster straight from New Orleans –

My imagery was posted on her personal facebook page with positive all around positive comments – and I was suprised to see people receive my version of Lestat more warmly than the image of the man on the printing of the book – (which, if I am to be honest, thought was a pretty good representation and not deserving of the scorn it received from the online masses).

I even had a brief Twitter exchange with comic book writer Kurt Amacker and one of my favorite bands, 69 Eyes because of the poster appearing in one of their collective publications – that was pretty killer.

I still have limited copies available in both 11X17 and 8X10 – and 4 versions, inlcuding black and white, color with and without text and one featuring a mischievious little zebra in honor of the infamous New Orleans band ‘Zebra’ who played the ball last year. Quantities are extremely limited and I will be discontinuing selling the posters early this year. They are signed by me – but if you want them signed by Anne, you’ll have to go to the ball or a book signing yourself and get her to sign it for you there…
